Phil’s book is aimed at individuals and organisations that recognise they could be better at business partnerships with customers, staff and in the end yourself!
I found this book to be a great read based upon a story format of the trials and tribulations of our hero Simon Gray and his new appointment as Chief Executive of a troubled organisation.
What I like most about this book was the practical application of proven tips and techniques in a very easy to understand way – very much in keeping with Phil’s own personal style.
Each chapter has a summary of “Wit and Wisdom” great for referral at any time in the future. The final chapter – “Partnership Toolkit” summarising an approach for the reader is great value and provides a practical blueprint of what you can do, something which is sadly lacking in so many business books…
I would recommend this book to anyone in business as a practical and down to earth read that really makes you think and I believe is a must for your business book library.
There were three tips from Chapter 4 that really set home with me
“Money motivates neither the best people nor the best in people”
“When you next experience a bad time in your life ask yourself the question – What is life trying to teach me right now?”
“The only thing that gets in the way of you and happiness… is you!
Happy reading all!
